'Oh Canada'

We whizzed up through the dull, arid landscape to Spokane and soon entered Idaho; the potato state. A quick lunch in pretty Coeur D'Alene and then off to Canada. We are on our way to see my sister, Angela, who has lived in western Canada since the early 70's, much of that time in Calgary where we are moving towards now.

It seemed that no one wanted to go to Canada today as, for the last 20 miles or so before the border, we had the road practically to ourselves. The formalities were very straightforward and the charming immigration officer told us that we had made her day. Her computer wouldn't let her put United Kingdom or even G B for the vehicle registration and so she just put Georgia, our port of entry. Close.

A long days drive got us as far as Cranbrook, B.C. An Hawaiian blizzard from Dairy Queen our arrival treat. I am Becoming dangerously addicted to them.

We are only five hours from Calgary now and so it is our last night in the Landie for a few days as Angela has a real house with bathrooms, a laundry of her very own - everything! We are stopping on the way at the wonderful World Heritage Site of 'Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump' and 'The Frank Slide' as Adrian hasn't seen them before.

It's Stampede time in Calgary; this year is the Centennial, Adrian hasn't visited at Stampede time with me before but Cowboy Shooter is in for a real treat.

YEE HAW!
